This mixed media work was picked for the prestigious Brand 39: Works on Paper exhibition at the Brand Library in Glendale, California. I feel very fortunate to have a piece in this show as there were more than 700 entries. The show will open October 2 and run through November 6th. An experimental piece, I took a photograph of a hanging wall decoration in our kitchen which was casting dark shadows on the pantry door. When I rotated the image 45,ยบ I saw mountains. After printing it on fine art paper I worked into the subject with pastels and colored pencils. Sometimes art is seeing something unexpected and having fun with it.
